Mr. Kelvin Wise

Mr. Kelvin Wise, widower of Amy Jeter Smoot Wise, of 385 Inez Chaplin Road, Newberry SC entered into the arms of Jesus on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC. He was born in Prosperity, SC on August 13, 1961 to the late Mr. Willie Vance Wise and the late Mrs. Lillie Mae Davenport Wise.

He was a member of Empowerment Ministries. Kelvin was a retired school teacher of the Newberry County Schools.  He was a 1979 high school graduate of Mid Carolina in Prosperity, SC. Kelvin continued his education at Voorhees College on a baseball college scholarship in BS in mathematics and graduated in 1983.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories are his daughter, Kalundra Wise of Lugoff -Elgin, SC; three step sons, Montedric Smoot of Newberry, SC, Myron Smoot of Fountain Inn, SC and Calvin Smoot of Newberry, SC; two grandchildren reared in the home, Marlaina Smoot and Najee Smoot; two brothers, Craig Wise (Debra) of Blythewood, SC and Anthony Wise (Kim) of Newberry, SC; sister, Sophia Wise of Prosperity, SC; a devoted friend, Deborah Wise of Newberry, SC;God daughter, A’ Nylah Harmon of Little Mountain, SC; aunts, Delores Stephens, Mildred Wise, Ethelene Toland , Annette Davenport; two uncles, Moses Wise and Colie Wise; great aunt, Aileen Glagow; great uncle, JP Toland; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Jeter and George Jeter; one sister-in-law; Diane Swindler; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1501 College Street, Newberry, SC. Burial will follow in Welch Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Newberry.
