Mr. Sammie Edward Bouknight

Mr. Sammie Edward Bouknight, of 1139 Copeland Street (Tremont Apartments, Apt. 107) Newberry, SC, entered into Eternal rest on Monday, February 5, 2018 at his residence. He was born July 22, 1943 in Newberry, SC, to the late Mr. Sammie Bouknight and the late Mrs. Arsula Floyd Bouknight.

He was a member of Hannah A.M.E. Church in Newberry, SC.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Javarious Jerrod Henderson; one brother, Clyde Bouknight and a sister, Maude Harper.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories are his wife, Mrs. Mabel Dewalt Bouknight; two sons, Charles Edward Bouknight (Pamela) and Alvin ODell Bouknight, both of Newberry, SC; three daughters, Donna Marie Bouknight (Darryl) and Wendy Melissa Bouknight, both of Newberry, SC and Catherine Michelle Suber (Quincy), Mountville, SC; 12 grandchildren, including a granddaughter reared in the home, La’ Precious A. Mathis; 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Rev. Timothy Bouknight (Georgia), Springfield, Massachusetts; two sisters, Annie Pearl Harris, Dorchester, Massachusetts and Barbara Moore, Newberry, SC; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

The family will receive friends at the home (Tremont Apartments, Apt. 107)

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Hannah A.M.E. Church, 116 Deadfall Rd, Newberry, SC (viewing one hour prior to the service). Burial will follow in Trinity A.M.E. Church Cemetery, 1338 Green Tree Rd, Newberry, SC.
