Mr. Thomas Jones, Jr

Mr. Thomas Jones Jr, 74, affectionately known as "POP", son of the late Thomas Jones Sr., and Eleanor Jones was born February 8, 1948 in Newberry, South Carolina. Mr. Jones entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 27 at his home in Newberry, SC. 

Thomas attended school briefly in Newberry, South Carolina and continued his education and graduation in Detroit, MI. After graduation, he was employed at Chrysler Corporation until being drafted into the U.S. Army. He served 2 years, with 1 year including active duty in Vietnam, where he earned 2 bronze stars for his bravery. After the military, Thomas returned to Chrysler Corporation where he retired after 30 years of employment.

One of his unique qualities was that he was loved by all. He truly enjoyed dancing and having a good time and was always the life of the party. He was a loving, caring, and generous individual who will be truly missed. 

Thomas departed this life Friday May 27, 2022 to be with his loved ones who preceded him in death. His father, Thomas Sr; mother, Eleanor; brother, Curtis; sister, Gwendolyn; and grandson, Ramon.

He leaves to cherish his memories, 4 daughters, Tamika (Darryl), Kisha (Damon), Evita (Jamel), and Crystal (William) all of Detroit, MI. Siblings, Patricia (Richard) of Newberry, South Carolina, Janice (Garland) of San Antonio, Texas, Penelope (Collins), Albert (Yvonne),Annette, and Tyrone, all of Newberry, South Carolina. 12 grandchildren, Shamarria, Savanna, London, Asia, Naim, Nasir, Laliah, Kaitlyn, August, Atlas, Axel, and Elliot. 3 great grandchildren, Sanaii, Christopher, and Makayla. 1 aunt, Alice Lake of Detroit, MI and a beloved cousin and caretaker, Tentress Ruff (Huggy), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 1 to 6 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 64 Boundary St, Newberry, SC 29108.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 3 PM at Newberry Firehouse and Conference Center, Newberry, SC 29108

Interment will follow in Werts Cemetery.
