Mr. Thomas Ruff

Mr. Thomas Ruff of 673 John Waldrop Road, Newberry, SC passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Newberry, SC on November 9, 1940 to the late Mr. Sam Ruff and the late Mrs. Fannie Gray Ruff. Thomas was raised in the home of the late Mr. Willie Lewis “Buddy” Scott and the late Mrs. Sophia Houston Scott.

Thomas was a member of Trinity A.M.E. Church in Newberry and he was also a member of the Sons of Aid Society Lodge # 6.

He was a former employee of Trinity Farms as a tractor operator.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories include one brother, Mr. Claude Ruff (Edith) of Newberry; three sisters, Ms. Barbara Leitzsey, Ms. Ella Mae James and Mrs. Rosetta Scott Elmore (Rev. Willie), all of Newberry; two sisters-in-law, Ms. Irene Scott and Ms. Lillie Mae Sheppard, both of Newberry; and a host of nieces, including a devoted niece reared in the home, Sherri Scott, nephews, cousins and friends. 

The family will receive friends at the home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Saint Matthew Baptist Church in Newberry. Burial will follow in Trinity A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Newberry.
