Mr. Willie F Wilson

Mr. Willie Fred Wilson, beloved son of the late Harmon Scurry and Mildred Flee Wilson-Scurry was born October 12, 1952 in Newberry, SC.

He entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Willie also known as “Rooster” to his family and friends was employed by Louis Rich and Heilig-Myers Furniture Store as a salesman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harmon Scurry and Mildred Flee Wilson-Scurry and a niece, Idrissa Osei.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 21 years, Mary Nell Wilson; four daughters, Rica (Reggie) Woodard of Blair, SC, Pamela (Demond) Curry of Newberry, SC, Shanta Samuel of Newberry, SC and Wanda (Chris) Wise of Prosperity, SC; three sons, Cedric Wilson of Greer, SC, Chris Wilson of Newberry, SC and Jamie (Alisia) Samuel of Newberry, SC; two sisters, Glenda (Garfield) Valentine of Oxnard, California and Gail (Shawn) Johnson of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; one brother, Derrick Scurry of Boston Massachusetts, two brothers in law, David (Elaine) Downing and Michael (Linda) Downing; three sisters in law, Margie Downing of Philadelphia, PA, Dorothy Dennis of Columbia, SC and Mary Ann (Tokunboh) Ilupeju of Philadelphia, PA; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 3 to 6 pm in the parlor of Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home.

A mask or face covering is required to enter the funeral home.
