Mrs. Eva Pearl Curry Nelums entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. She was born on July 27, 1926, in Lexington County, SC, to the late Fleming James Curry and the late Louise Reeves Curry.
She was a member of Pine Grove A.M.E. Church where she was the Mother of the Church, member of the Stewardess Board and choir leader.
Mrs. Nelums was also a member of the Woman’s Home Aid Society Lodge #97 and the Rock of Ages Order of Easter Star Chapter #294. Mrs. Nelums was predeceased by her husband, Hulie Nelums; four brothers, Daniel, Saul, Tim and Phillip Curry; two sisters, Betty Byrd and Julia Boyd. Those who celebrate her life and cherish loving memories are two brothers, Sampson Curry (Barbara Jean) of Little Mountain, SC, and Charlie Curry (Patsy) of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Katherine Curry of Chapin, SC, and Barbara Ann Lopez (Paul) of Columbia, SC; and nieces, nephews, cousins, friends including devoted friends, Kamala Griggs, Fay Haltiwanger-Amick and the Pinner Family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Pine Grove A.M.E. Church in Little Mountain, SC (viewing one hour prior to the service). Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
