Mrs. Gladys Reeder, 66, of 602 Castle Ridge Drive, Columbia, SC entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. She was born in Prosperity, SC on July 9, 1953 to the late Mr. Curtis Williams, Sr. and the late Mrs. Eva Ray Wheeler Williams.
Gladys was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Prosperity, SC. She was also an Elder of the church, member of the gospel choir, served on the Missionary Society, Oak Grove Burial Aid Society, assisted with the youth department, chairperson of the Family and Friends Program, usher and former Deacon of the church.
She retired from Michelin Tire Company in Lexington, SC as a lead person.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Reeder, Sr.; two brothers, Curtis Williams, Jr. and Ricky Williams and sister, Virginia Nance.
Those who celebrate her life and cherish precious and loving memories include one son, George Reeder, Jr. (Laura) of Lexington, SC; one grandson, Jordan Reeder of Lexington, SC; three godchildren, Rashod, Markell and Leilani Williams; seven sisters, Dorothy Wicker (Charles), Elizabeth Dewalt, Jonelle Williams, Maggie Williams, Eva Releford (Terron) all of Prosperity, SC, Margaret Ferguson (Michael) of Fountain Inn, SC and Teresa Williams of Prosperity, SC; four uncles, Willie Mack Stoudemire, James Raymond Ruff, Richard Ruff and John Sammie Ruff; three aunts, Betty Ann Kinard, Lillie Ruff and Florence Stoudemire; two brothers-in-law, James Arthur Reeder and Frank Reeder, Jr.; three sisters-in-law, Ida Reeder, Bessie Reeder and Francis Reeder; and a host of nieces including two devoted nieces, Tracie Sligh and Glenda Kinard, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends at the home her sister, Elizabeth Dewalt (404 Forest Hills Blvd, Prosperity, SC 29127).
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
