Mrs. Katie Mae Randson Smoot

Mrs. Katie Mae Randson Smoot entered into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Chappells, SC on June 19, 1927 to the late Mr. Joe Randson and the late Mrs. Kattie Bell Simpkins Randson.

She was a member of Saint Vaughnville Baptist Church where she was a member of the gospel choir. She was also a member of the Woman’s Home Aid Society.

Mrs. Smoot was predeceased by her husband, Mr. James T. Smoot and two sons, Johnny C. Smoot and Calvin L. Smoot.

Those who celebrate her life and cherish precious and loving memories include two sons, JC Smoot (Betty) of Hodges, SC and Harold Smoot (Daisy) of Chappells, SC; one daughter, Sarah M. Henderson of Greenwood, SC; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Randson Aery of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law, Gertrude Randson of Charlotte, NC; one nephew; Jeryl A. Randson of Charlotte, NC; two great nieces and other relatives and friends.  

The family will receive friends at the home (4429 SC Hwy 56, Chappells, SC).

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Saint Vaughnville Baptist Church, 2127 Salter Road, Chappells, SC 29037. Burial will follow in the church cemetery
