Mrs. Kay (Moon) Coleman

Mrs. Kay Coleman affectionately known by her family members as "PK" the beloved daughter of James M. Moon Sr. and Eva M. D. Moon departed this life Sunday September 17, 2023 at her home in Prosperity, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents and only brother, James M. Moon Jr.

Mrs. Coleman earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Benedict College and was a member of the Half Century Club.  She retired from Southern Bell and later from USC as an Employment Manager.  Kay was a Deaconess at Antioch Baptist Church, Secretary of Lodge #14 of the Woman Aid Society, alumnus member of Links Incorporated and was a life member with 50 years in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.  She enjoyed membership in the True Shadow Bridge Club and the Saturday Evening Bridge Club.  Mrs. Coleman also served on the Newberry Zoning Appeals Board, member of the Newberry NAACP Chapter and the Newberry Democratic Party Organization.

She leaves in God's care to cherish her memories a devoted son, Murray L. Coleman; a loving sister, Vina M. Abrams (David E. Abrams); one adorable grandson, Garner L. Coleman; one special nephew, Donald E. Abrams; a godson, Torri Toland and many cousins, other relatives, neighbors, Link and Sorority sisters and friends who she loved and will miss her.

Graveside Service will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday September 19, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 236 Rikard School Rd. Prosperity, SC 29127
