Mrs. Maggie Lee Henderson Burton age 84 passed away surronded by the comfort of loving family and friends. Mrs. Burton attended public school in Newberry County. She retired at 32 years of work at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
She is predeceased by her son-in-law Reverend Larry Bookman and mother-in-law Janie Mae Burton.
Maggie was born in Newberry County to the late Isaiah Henderson and Louise Davis Henderson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the Woman Aid Society Lodge # 50.
Surviving Mrs. Burton are those who will cherish her memories, her husbnd; Freddie Burton, daughters; Brenda Davidson, Reverend Tina Bookman of Newberry, SC, Angie Kirkland (Robert) of Chapin, SC, sons; James Gallman Jr. of Laurens, SC, Forrest Gallman, Willie Gallman (Sheila), Russell Gallman and Freddie Gallman of Newberry, SC and grandson Avonteon Gallman, who was raised in the home, sisters; Nova Miles of Newberry, SC, Mary Henderson and Beatrice Barnes, both of Dallas, TX, Lois Carter of Philadelphia, PA, brothers; Isaiah Henderson, George Henderson, and Ernest Henderson, all of Dallas, TX, four sisters-in-law, 22 grandchildren. 35 great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, newphews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation Wednesday June 2, 2021 from 1pm till 7pm at Wilson Funeral Home.
Graveside service 2:00 pm Thursday June 3, 2021 at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
