Ms. Vicki Meggett Obituary

Ms. Vicki Inez Meggett, beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin and aunt, was born April 21, 1971, in Newberry/Lexington County. She was raised in a loving home by her late grandparents, Amos and Ella Meggett. She entered the arms of Jesus on Monday, January 08, 2024, at her home in Chapin, SC, where she entered into eternity to join her deceased brother, Terence R. Lyghts, and deceased stepfather, Rollon Lyghts, Jr.

Vicki started her early childhood development where she attended Babcock in Lexington. Then, in her early adolescence, she attended District 5 schools, where she obtained her certificate. Next, she continued her womanhood in adult daycare at Helping Hands and Hope Ridge of the Hollies in West Columbia. Vicki was a devoted Christian and joined as a member of the Providence A.M.E. church, where she was baptized by Rev. Sutton. She enjoyed Bible study with her mother within the New International Version (NIV) Bible, to receive the word of the Lord every night. She was joyously known for her contagious smile and laughter, which shined the brightest when she was surrounded by her close loved ones, especially the quality time she spent bonding with her mother, Evelyn, and two brothers Reggie and Terry. In her free time, she enjoyed watching soap operas, comedy sitcom shows, Clemson Tigers (College Football), drawing, Christmas holidays, and family reunion trips. She was greatly known for her love of music, as she kept CDs from artists like Fantasia, Shirley Ceasar, The Jackson 5, and Boyz II Men (A Song for Mama) on rotation, along with many others. She also enjoyed getting pretty hairstyles done by family friend Elaine Dorley. Furthermore, she adored the music from the Providence A.M.E. church choir, which featured her fellow church members and close family friends, Patricia Smith and Thenell Miller.

Those who celebrate her beautiful life and loving memories include her mother, Evelyn Meggett, and older brothers, Reggie L. Meggett (Yolanda), and Patrick Bookman; eight nieces/great-nieces and three nephews/great nephews: De'Sha Meggett (Ami'Lah), Daffeny Meggett, Tequoyia Jones (Braylen), Destiny Meggett, Senteria Lyghts, Laylah Reeves, Chase Meggett, Terence "LT" Lyghts, and Lyric Lyghts. In addition, three aunts Maggie Mayers (James), Ellen Mayers (Randy) and Flanzie Smith (Richard) all of Chapin, SC; two uncles Amos Meggett and Julious Meggett both of Chapin, SC; one great uncle, Alton Meggett of Connecticut; one great aunt, Lillie Mae Watson (Doug) of Ohio, a host of cousins and loving family who adored her dearly along with family friend Jamone Lindsey. May this sweet angel enjoy her rest in Heavenly Paradise.
