It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Ophelia G. Gallman on October 22, 2023. Ophelia was born in Winnsboro, SC, to the late Jesse and Pearly Mae Johnson. She was a dedicated member of Morris Creek Baptist Church in Winnsboro, SC, and a proud graduate of McCorey Liston High School, class of 1971. Ophelia worked diligently, contributing her skills to both Mack Trucking and U.S. Postal Services. She found immense joy in cooking for her family, exploring new places, indulging in retail therapy, and most importantly, cherishing moments with her beloved grandchildren.
Ophelia is survived by her loving husband, Tony D. Gallman, her son Robert D. Young, Jr. of Cameron, NC, and her daughter Keyonia (Murray) Johnson of Prosperity, SC. She will be deeply missed by her six cherished grandchildren: Dana, Kamari, Reagan, and Ryanne Young, as well as Murray, Jr. and Kaden Johnson. Ophelia is also survived by her siblings: Prudence Gadson, Brenda (Clarence) Jacobs, Angela Ashford of Winnsboro, SC, and Bruce Johnson (Cynthia Jones) of Clinton, SC.
In addition to her parents, Ophelia was preceded in death by her brothers Gilbert, Aurthemia, and Kenneth Johnson, and her sister Jessie T. Neal. She leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, and a large circle of cherished relatives and friends. Ophelia's warm heart, vibrant spirit, and enduring love will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
Memorial Service for Mrs. Ophelia G. Gallman will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday October 26, 2023 at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
