Paulette (Walker) Clinkscales

Paulette Walker Clinkscales, a beacon of light and love who graced this world passed away on March 17, 2025, at her home. She was born April 26, 1944, in Washington, DC, to the late James P. Walker, Sr., and Dorothy Harris Walker.

Paulette graduated from Gallman High School in 1963; she worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter until her retirement.

Paulette was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Walker Dickey and Debra Walker.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her two daughters, Marsha Rene Bailey Mathis of Newberry, SC, and Tracie Lynette (Mike) Smith of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Dorothy Eleazer of Columbia, SC; and Claudette Walker Johnson of Washington, DC; two brothers, James Walker, Jr., and Thomas Walker of Washington, DC; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In her last days, she was loved and cared for by her grandchildren and niece: Tameka Bailey, Deago Bailey, Ebony Mathis, Aaliyah Mathis, Dae’Trian Grier, Maurice (Dell) Bailey, Da’Naeyah Mathis, Janilah Turner, Odarian Grier, and Melissa Walker.

Visitation will be held 1-5pm Friday March 21, 2025, Wilson Funeral Home Newberry, SC

Funeral Services will be held 2pm Saturday March 22, 2025, St. Matthew Baptist Church Newberry, SC. 

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home of Newberry.
