Rev. Barbara Arrington

Reverend Barbara Jean Arrington was born in Newberry, SC to the late George Lyles and the late Jerry Lee Baxter. Reverend Barbara Jean Arrington entered into eternal rest on Friday October 21, 2022, at Heritage of Lowman homes in Chapin, South Carolina.

    Barbara Arrington was raised in Newberry, SC and educated in the Newberry school system. She relocated to Chiefland, Florida, where she met her loving husband Albert Arrington. While living in Florida, she worked as a C.N.A and a custodian at Chiefland High School. They also resided in North Carolina for a period of time and later moved back to Newberry.

    In 1997, Barbara Arrington was ordained as a pastor at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newberry. She taught bible study and preached the gospel. While there, she was a member of numerous organizations within the church.

    Barbara was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed going to church, spending time with her family, and watching her westerns on her recliner.

    Reverend Arrington was preceded in death by her parents, George Lyles and Jerry lee Baxter; brothers, T.J Dean, Johnnie Knight, Colie Dean, Jessie Dean, Henry Dean, and Wilson Brown Sr; sisters, Dorothy Jean Davenport and Annie Belle Boyd.

 Cherishing her memory is one loving daughter, Phyllis Wise; grandchildren, Felicia Dean-Robinson, Margaret Jones (Alwin), Barbara Dean, Michael Wise, and Brian Wise; great grandchildren, Brielle Hart, Shaunte, Shaunae, Simeon, Sion Robinson, Alana and Caelan Jones; a loving brother, Bobby Dean of New York; sister- in- law Mary Knight, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday October 27, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Friday October 28, 2022 at New Covenant Christian Center, 2306 Johnstone St. Newberry, SC.

Interment at Metropolitan Baptist Church following the service.
