Deacon Willie June Williams, affectionately known as “Willie B,” age 85, of Silverstreet, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Newberry Hospital. He was born on May 16, 1940, to the late Robert Williams Sr. and Ella Devore.
Deacon Willie accepted Christ at an early age and joined Little River Baptist Church, where he served faithfully throughout his life. He was a devoted member and proudly served on the Deacon Board. His quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering commitment to his church family will be remembered for generations.
He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, sitting outside on the porch, offering wisdom to anyone who stopped by, and spending peaceful hours watching old western movies. Though he mostly kept to himself, those who knew him understood the depth of his heart and the sincerity of his character.
Deacon Williams worked diligently at Champion and was later employed at Robert Foundry, where he remained until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie, Robert, and Roosevelt; his sisters, Daisy Ruth, Mary, and Elease; and his children, Jewel, Larry, Lil Willie, Willie (BJ), Willie (Choot), and Kelly.
Deacon Williams leaves to cherish memories his wife, Virginia A. Williams; three daughters, Andrea W. (Kenneth) Edwards, Augusta, Ga.; Latosha C. (Santana) Gallman, Saluda, SC; and Victoria (Hassan) Junios. Son Derrick (Amy) Jones Sr., Henderson, Nevada. Three sisters, Barbara Holmes Greenwood SC, Mary Butler, and Carrie Hall, Clinton, SC. Sisters-in-law, Annie Smith (Johnnie), Saluda, SC; Debbie Willis, Florida; Shirley (Lonnie) Kelly, Greenwood, SC; brothers-in-law, Tyrie (Juanita) Abney, James Steven Abney, and Pete Williams, Saluda, SC. 11 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and a friend who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held 1-5pm Friday December 26, 2025, Wilson Funeral Home Newberry, SC.
Funeral Service will be conducted 2pm Saturday December 27, 2025, Little River Baptist Church, Silverstreet. SC.
Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
