Mr. Willie A Mayers

Mr. Willie A. Mayers, 70, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at White Oak Manor of Newberry, South Carolina. He was born September 12, 1945 in Lexington, SC to the late Lestine Mayers and the late Matthew Hill. He was reared in the home of his late uncle and aunt, Clyde Rutherford and Eunice Mayers Rutherford.

Mr. Mayers retired from the Dickert Lumber Company.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories are a daughter, Tracey D. Goodson of Newberry, SC; four grandsons; two great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Rutherford of Lyman, SC, Alfreda Rutherford of Greenville, SC, Terrie Rutherford of Ridgeway, SC, Sandra Rutherford of Newberry, SC, Betty Hill and Margaret Hill both of Lexington, SC; brothers, Clarence Mayers (Cassidy) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Gregory Mayers of New Jersey, Matthew Hill, Bernard Hill and Rodney Draft all of Lexington, SC; a very devoted caregiver and cousin, Essie Mae Stephens of Newberry, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends including three devoted friends, Thelma Goodson, Betty A. Harmon, Betty Wise, Robert Jones and Rodney Stephens.

Funeral service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Saint Matthew Baptist Church, 61 Boundary Street, Newberry, SC (viewing one hour prior to the service). Burial will follow in Werts Cemetery in Newberry, SC.
